Abstract: Forming na onal self-awareness among children from an early age by incorpora ng them into
their family and tradi ons has been a primary goal of the pedagogical team during the past three years.
Through various project ac vi es children have enriched their knowledge of Bulgarian folklore, lifestyle, culture
and local customs and tradi ons. By using a variety of ac vi es we worked in close collabora on with the parents
in order to popularize the cultural iden ty of our town. The children’s research and crea ve ac vi es have
been popularized by taking part in the annual projects funded by the OF “Cultura”. Thus the children gain certainty
for their subsequent socializa on and realiza on as self-confi dent and proud Bulgarians.
