Bulgarian teachers, together with Czech teachers and pupils together with other par cipa ng countries, made

“survachka” – a special tree branch.
We presented a presenta on, prepared by Bulgarian students called “Christmas – a holiday of hope”. Emphasis
was placed on symbols and customs with a marked magical character. All par cipants were impressed by
Bulgarian ritual breads, the “badnik” in the fi replace, divina on for health and carolling tradi on as an integral
part of the holiday. This holiday is covered in Bulgarian literature classes and with our students we had a special
lesson which reproduced the custom of Christmas Eve and Christmas holiday. A great interest was shown to
“survachka” by par cipants students, who under our guidance and using authen c materials brought from Bulgaria,
decorated a special tree branch. Together with students we prepared tradi onal dishes related to the upcoming
