KNOWING THE PARTS OF SPEECH \u2013 AN INTERDISCIPLINARY INNOVATIVE LESSON FOR THIRD GRADE<\/h6>\n

Abstract<\/strong>: \u201eKnowing the Parts of Speech\u201c is an interdisciplinary lesson that integrates knowledge from Bulgarian <\/em>language, social studies, science, music, and information technology. The aim of this lesson is to consolidate <\/em>students\u2019 understanding of the parts of speech, enhance their ability to identify grammatical categories, <\/em>and improve proper pronunciation and spelling. Additionally, it commemorates World Water Day, highlighting <\/em>its significance for all living organisms. <\/em>The lesson begins with a multimedia presentati<\/em>on and a brief discussion. It transitions smoothly by revisiting <\/em>prior knowledge about the parts of speech, after which the third graders identify the word \u201cwater\u201c as a noun <\/em>and discuss its grammatical features, including related words. Students are divided into teams to solve worksheets. <\/em>They trace the paths of studied rivers on the map of Bulgaria and identify and correct spelling errors in <\/em>a text reviewing the properties of water. To reinforce their knowledge, students play educational games on the <\/em>Nearpod platform. The lesson concludes with a song, \u201cGratitude to Water.\u201c <\/em>This lesson reinforces knowledge of the parts of speech, improves pronunciation and spelling skills, and <\/em>commemorates World Water Day, emphasizing the importance of water for all living organisms.<\/em><\/p>\n
