Abstract<\/strong>: Dynamic processes in the contemporary information society and the rapid spread of new technologies\u00a0<\/em>necessitate innovative methodological, pedagogical and managerial approaches in the field of education\u00a0<\/em>to provoke interest, to achieve lasting knowledge and to create conditions for the manifestation of intrinsic motivation\u00a0<\/em>among young people. The concept of a \u201eknowledge-based society\u201d provokes the search for changes in\u00a0<\/em>institutional structures that guarantee the establishment of lifelong learning attitudes.\u00a0<\/em>There are different definitions of the term \u201eeducation\u201d that unanimously unite its core mission to preserve\u00a0<\/em>and develop culture. Therefore, cultural institutions within the meaning of the current legal framework in the\u00a0<\/em>country, in addition to carrying out activities to create, disseminate and preserve cultural and historical values,\u00a0<\/em>should develop active educational initiatives to fulfil their role as a mediator between the preserved tradition\u00a0<\/em>and the present. It is also one of the mechanisms for achieving the current education goals related to its sustainable\u00a0<\/em>development.\u00a0<\/em>This paper presents new research project entitled \u201eResearch of Contemporary Educational Programs of Cultural\u00a0<\/em>Institutions in Bulgaria\u201c, financed by the National Science Fund, part of the Ministry of Education and Science.<\/em><\/p>\n
