FROM CURIOSITY TO SCIENTIFIC KNOWLEDGE: STEM PRACTICE FOR EXPLORING THE HUMAN BODY AND DEVELOPING RESEARCH SKILLS IN 3RD GRADE

Abstract: This article presents a STEM practice on the topic “Main organs of the human body – science and adventure for curious minds”, implemented with third-grade students. The goal of the practice is to create conditions for active learning and the development of key competencies by integrating natural sciences, mathematics, educational robotics and experimental activities. The learning process is organised through gamification, teamwork, the use of Ozobot robots and practical models illustrating the functions of the heart, lungs and digestive system. Students participate in inquiry-based tasks, conduct experiments, observe processes and discuss the functions of the main organs of the human body. Working in teams, they collect, analyse and present information, formulate conclusions and apply their knowledge in practical situations. The implemented activities contribute to a deeper understanding of the studied biological processes and support the development of research, communication and collaboration skills. The presented practice demonstrates the potential of the integrated STEM approach to increase students’ curiosity, motivation and active participation in primary science education.
