“THE MAGIC OF WATER“ – A STEAM INTERDISCIPLINARY LEARNING ACTIVITY

Abstract: This article presents an innovative interdisciplinary STEAM lesson entitled “The Magic of Water“, implemented with 4th and 5th grade students. The lesson aimed to deepen students’ understanding of water as a vital natural resource through inquiry-based learning, teamwork and hands-on experimentation. Working in four research teams, students explored water properties, observed condensation processes, measured pH values of different water samples, designed water filtration systems using natural materials, and investigated water purification methods. The activities integrated knowledge and skills from science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics, encouraging active participation, critical thinking and collaborative learning. The lesson contributed to the development of scientific literacy, environmental awareness and responsible attitudes towards the protection and sustainable use of water resources.
