Abstract: The review article presents logic programming and Prolog (SWI-Prolog1) as a transparent educational approach to introducing artificial intelligence in secondary school. It summarizes the idea of a STEM project in which students build a small knowledge base for Rhodope dialect words and expressions instead of using artificial intelligence as a black box. The project connects informatics, Bulgarian language, history and cultural heritage, while developing logical thinking, data literacy and critical understanding of verifiable inference.

Keywords: artificial intelligence, logic programming, Prolog, STEM, dialects, project-based learning
