ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN THE EDUCATION OF STUDENTS (FUTURE TEACHERS)

Abstract: A survey was conducted among fourth-year students of the pedagogical specialties: Preschool and Primary School Pedagogy, Primary School Pedagogy and Special Pedagogy, Preschool Pedagogy and Speech Therapy of the St. Cyril and St. Methodius University of Veliko Tarnovo, Vratsa branch, on the use of Аrtificial Intelligence in their preparation for practical seminars with structured lessons/pedagogical situations. The survey includes a practical analysis of how new technologies can help in preparing for the presentation of a pedagogical situation/lesson. The ratio of „natural-artificial“ intelligence is studied in variant 1. Preparation of a pedagogical situation/lesson by the student (natural intelligence) with a second step of „consultation“ with AI for correction/supplementation/re/structuring; 2. Using AI to develop a pedagogical situation/lesson with a subsequent step of correction/supplementation/re/structuring by the student (natural intelligence). For the purposes of the study, free alternatives on the market are used, and the educational focus of the study is on learning from students how to ask the right questions (prompts) in order to turn AI into a supportive mentor for the student – future teacher.
