Abstract: The article presents results from an empirical program dedicated to studying the impact of adult literacy training on the quality of life of people who have participated in such training. The methodology of the conducted research combines conceptual content analysis of a selected sample of 31 thematically related publications, in order to summarize and analyze the diversity of concepts and ideas representing the semantic dimensions of the terms “adult literacy” and “well-being”, semi-structured interviews with 16 adult learners who have completed literacy courses and 4 рroblem-centered expert interview with school principals implementing these courses. The analysis conducted allows to identify the impact of adult literacy courses on the professional and personal development of those who participated in them, on the well-being of the individual and the community. The results allow to formulate and systematize criteria and competencies that are used as indicators for assessing the achieved learning outcomes and their impact on the quality of life of adults.
