VALUES EDUCATION AND RELIGION TRAINING IN THE DIGITAL AGE: PROSPECTS FOR FORMING CRITICAL AND RESPONSIBLE THINKING

Abstract: The article examines values education in the digital age and argues for the role of religious education in fostering critical and responsible thinking. The main thesis is that information overload, algorithmic mediation and fragmented perception cannot be addressed by digital literacy alone. Education also needs a valueoriented horizon that transforms access to information into mature judgment and responsible action. The article shows that religious education integrates cognitive, axiological and reflective dimensions and creates conditions for argumentation, interpretation, dialogue and personal reflection. It outlines pedagogical approaches applicable in digital environments and formulates conclusions about teacher preparation and the place of religious education in contemporary schooling.
