CONTEMPORARY PARENTING IN THE MEDIA REALITY

Abstract: Parenting as a fundamental social role is characterized by both tradition and extreme dynamism, which are found in varying degrees of correlation in the functioning of families today. Among them, there are both those who adhere more to traditional models of family life and child rearing, and those oriented towards a lifestyle reflecting the possibilities of modernity. This diversity is also popularized through social media, presenting visibility of various components of the everyday life of families with different structures and specificities. The aim of this study is to present basic aspects of the functioning of parenting today through the reality of social media – both traditional and reflective characteristics of modern life and ways of raising and educating children.
