Abstract: The idea of applying the marketing technique „elevator pitch“ in a scientific context was born on the occasion of the author’s long-term observations in conducting scientific forums – conferences, seminars, etc. In times of concentration deficit, it becomes increasingly difficult for scientists to hold the audience’s attention for a longer period of time, no matter how interesting they are as speakers, with attractive presentations or using game approaches to present their projects. This article describes the idea of an extremely short format (within 90 seconds) for presenting at a scientific forum. It refers to an innovation in scientific circles that was tested at a scientific seminar in April 2026, and instead of reading reports or giving presentations, each author made a short conceptual presentation – the so-called „elevator pitch“. Through this short, clear and convincing presentation of an idea, lasting as long as an elevator ride, authors need to focus on the essence of their reports. The main idea is that within their presentation, participants should be able to clearly formulate their main thesis or research question; describe their approach and methodology, derive key arguments, present important results and recommendations from their study, and state their scientific contribution. The methodology of this study is based on self-reflection and analysis of a specific case and allows for the formulation of hypotheses. Situational models generated during the specific scientific forum are analyzed, with the aim of outlining the advantages and disadvantages. Suggestions are also made for increasing the success rate in lapidary forms.
