Abstract: STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education is an innovative method that emphasizes the application of knowledge from different fields of science and their integration with students’ practical skills. Although STEM is mainly associated with the natural and exact sciences, in recent years its successful application has also been observed in the humanities, including literature. Combining STEM principles with Bulgarian language and literature education offers new opportunities for developing critical thinking and innovation among students. This report examines the ways in which STEM approaches can be applied in Bulgarian language and literature education for 7th grade through an analysis of Aleko Konstantinov’s travelogue „To Chicago and Back”. The report focuses on the Chicago Exposition of 1893, its impact on social and cultural attitudes, as well as the ways in which these topics can be viewed through the prism of STEM in the educational process.

Keywords: literature, STREAM, interdisciplinary method, 7th grade
