THE SOLAR SYSTEM – AN INTERDISCIPLINARY INNOVATIVE LESSON – 4TH GRADE

Abstract: The interdisciplinary and innovative lesson titled „The Solar System“ engages fourth-grade students in an integrated learning experience that combines knowledge from Natural Sciences, Mathematics, Bulgarian Language, and Technology and Entrepreneurship. The lesson is designed to reinforce and expand students’ understanding of the Solar System while cultivating key transversal skills such as collaboration, communication, critical thinking, and creativity. Through a series of team-based tasks, including solving math expressions, editing texts, interpreting scientific descriptions, building a physical model of the Solar System, and engaging in a digital quiz, students interactively explore planetary characteristics and celestial bodies. The lesson also incorporates digital tools like LearningApps and Blooket, fostering digital literacy and learner motivation. The final product—a collective model of the Solar System—is both a visual representation and a symbol of successful interdisciplinary teamwork.
