Abstract: This article explores the importance of introducing science in early childhood education. It emphasizes that children aged 3 to 7 are naturally curious and capable of understanding basic scientific concepts through inquiry, experimentation, and play. The authors present the experience of Kindergarten 180 „Zaychenceto byalo“ in Sofia, where topics such as sound, light, air, water, and dental health were explored over extended periods to encourage deeper understanding.
Key factors include the teacher’s role as a facilitator, active family involvement, and the use of digital tools. The approach combines play-based and interdisciplinary methods to foster scientific thinking, teamwork, and emotional engagement. Results show increased curiosity, participation, and awareness of nature and health. The article concludes that early science education lays the foundation for lifelong learning and responsible citizenship.

Keywords: Preschool science, inquiry-based learning, early childhood education, scientific thinking, learning through play
