KINDERGARTEN AND FAMILY COLLABORATION TO SUPPORT SCHOOL READINESS THROUGH THE „READING AND PAINTING TOGETHER PROJECT“

Abstract: The current work presents activities related to an internal educational project on „Reading and drawing together“. This project stimulates the interaction between the kindergarten and the family in the context of the child’s preparation for school. Parents read to the children pre-selected fairy tales according to a prepared schedule, discuss their content and motivate the children to draw a selected moment. The illustrations are presented in kindergarten, where they serve as a basis for analysing the literary work, retelling part of the story or expressing a personal attitude towards the literary content or character. Parents’ involvement in their children’s lives in kindergarten, built on a basis of partnership and cooperation, reflects on the quality of school readiness. Active parental support contributes to the child’s full personal development, thus ensuring a more successful adaptation to school.
