Abstract: Early school leaving is one of the most serious socio-educational problems in Bulgaria, with long-term consequences for individual and societal fulfillment. This article explores the complex nature of the phenomenon through an analysis of the main determinants – economic, social, educational, ethnocultural, institutional and health. The second part of the study proposes comprehensive strategic and practice-oriented measures for prevention and intervention, including pedagogical support, parental involvement, inter-institutional cooperation and the development of an inclusive school environment. The emphasis is placed on the need for an integrated, long-term and personalized approach to each child at risk. The article aims to assist in the formulation of policies and educational practices aimed at reducing dropout and supporting the personal development of students.
