Abstract: The report presents an experimental model for the formation of social competence through cultural awareness, implemented in four kindergartens in the municipality of Vratsa. The study uses sociometry, observation and diagnostics to track the dynamics of children’s social behavior. The model integrates basic and additional pedagogical forms, focusing on Bulgarian culture, holidays, folklore and historical figures, which contribute to the construction of cultural identity and social activity. The additional forms offer conditions for greater independence, creativity and initiative in children, while at the same time following the requirements of the State Educational Standard. This creates a holistic educational process that prepares children not only academically, but also socially and emotionally for the transition to school.
