THE HOUSE GENIE DOBI OR THE BROOM FROM GOETHE’S POEM „THE MAGICIAN’S APPRENTICE“. EXPLORING THE ROLE OF GENERATIVE ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN CONTEMPORARY EDUCATION: BENEFITS, LIMITATIONS AND ETHICAL CHALLENGES

Abstract: The paper presents an analysis of the author’s personal experience with ChatGPT, covering the period from November 2024 to June 2025, with a focus on its application in teaching. The author explores the capabilities and limitations of artificial intelligence, highlighting both the advantages (e.g., idea generation, information structuring) and significant problems such as hallucinations, lack of contextual memory, and spelling errors. Particular attention is paid to the imitation of human emotion and humour by ChatGPT, and the educational challenges posed by its use, including the risk of plagiarism and the need to critically evaluate the content generated. Key documents that directly or indirectly affect the use of artificial intelligence in the educational process in Bulgaria are presented. The report also addresses the legal and ethical aspects of artificial intelligence in Bulgaria and offers perspectives for adapting the education system to the new era of artificial intelligence, emphasizing the importance of responsible and conscious use of these technologies.
