Abstract: This literature review explores the pedagogical effectiveness of fairy tales in early childhood English language learning. Fairy tales are established as a potent tool for young learners, fostering not only language acquisition but also cultural awareness and critical thinking. The article examines how these narratives create a comfortable and engaging environment for introducing new linguistic structures, capitalizing on children’s familiarity with the format. It delves into the ways fairy tales facilitate the development of essential language skills, promote cultural integration and social skills, and effectively incorporate technology to resonate with Generation Alpha learners. The review provides examples of adapted fairy tales and classroom activities, highlighting empirical evidence that supports the use of fairy tales to enhance language learning outcomes. While acknowledging the benefits, the article also critically discusses potential challenges and limitations. Ultimately, the review advocates for the informed and skilful use of fairy tales as a valuable resource to create enriching and inclusive English language learning experiences for young children.
