HOLIDAYS IN KINDERGARTEN – A BRIDGE TO THE FORMATION OF CIVIC AND SOCIAL COMPETENCES

Abstract: The present study aims to reveal some aspects of holidays as an additional form of pedagogical interaction in preschool education. The research focus, based on the regulatory requirements and documents for work in a preschool educational environment, is aimed at ensuring the opportunities of this beloved additional educational form for children to form a large part of the elements of social and civic competences. Our motive is that the holiday contains elements of the content of these competences such as: the formation of cultural and national values and traditions, upbringing in respect for society, the formation of interpersonal relationships, empathy and tolerance, promoting a sense of belonging to the community, in which the holiday is a basic form of human behaviour with the most positive social character possible.
