FIRST STEPS IN ENTREPRENEURSHIP

Abstract: The report presents a model for working with 5 – 6 year old children on entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurship is important for children because it builds their confidence, communication and teamwork skills. The main goal of entrepreneurship education is to form knowledge and skills that define entrepreneurship and initiative as one of the most important competencies for the full realization of a person. Competencies are mainly related to the behavior of the person. That is why the European Union ranks it among the eight key competencesn for lifelong learning. With the concept of key competences, results-oriented learning is brought to the fore and emphasis is placed on the application of knowledge in real-life situations. Entrepreneurship as an additional activity to the curriculum in kindergarten encourages children to develop their initiative, supported by the community. It is essential to create learning opportunities in a fun and safe environment. The workspace should be a collaborative space with methods of “learning by experience”, “learning by doing”, “learning by playing“. In this way, the activity and interaction between parents, teachers and children is enhanced. This type of training opens up opportunities for greater personal realization of children.
