A CASE STUDY WITH A COMMUNICATIVE TASK IN THE 6TH GRADE

Abstract: The report presents an innovative method for teaching a literature lesson for the 6th grade – solving a case study in connection with a specific communicative task. Methodologically and thematically, the lesson is linked to the content of the excerpt ‘Keg of knowledge’ included in the curriculum, and provokes students to seek an answer to the question: ‘Are there universal methods of teaching, or learning?’. The use of the case makes it possible to verify the application of theoretical statements in practice, as well as the testing of various techniques in a realistic situation, by comparing the studied material with real life situations – effective or outdated are George’s pedagogical solutions in the conditions of modern education.
