Abstract: The article presents the structure and the content of a didactic model for teaching primary school students. It was developed as a result of an in-depth multi-year theoretical research of the philosophy of the Montessori Method and its practical application in educational institutions in European countries and around the world. The Model is adapted to the normative requirements of the Ministry of Education in Bulgaria and has been approved in Primary School ‘Dr. Maria Montessori’ – Burgas1, where it is still applied today. It is provoked by the human need to have the ability to learn – the ability to discover objectively knowledge and skills that he misses them, to solve problems or tasks relevant to him, to find the necessary knowledge for him independently or in team activities, and to learn new skills based on them.
Keywords: Montessori method, primary school, independence, Montessori teacher, Montessori environment.
