Abstract: ‘The drawing of the family’ is very popular due to the convenience and speed of application, accessibility for children of preschool and elementary school age and various opportunities for conducting repeated research and obtaining rich material for discussion with a parent. The methodology is based on a natural „drawing“ activity of children from 4 – 5 to 10 – 12 years old, through which they can ‘express’ what they cannot express in words, i.e. the language of the drawing conveys family relations more clearly and openly. The peculiarities of the graphic representation of family members express the child’s feelings towards them, how he perceives them, which characteristics of the members are significant and which cause anxiety.
