IN THE WORLD OF CHILDREN’S BOOKS- AN INTERDISCIPLINARY LESSON IN FIRST GRADE

Abstract: The lesson „In the world of children’s books“ is a kind of continuation of the topic „In the world of books“, which is studied in the first grade in the Bulgarian language and literature classes. The knowledge acquired in literature was successfully combined in the Interest Activities classes, where the little students showed how interesting and vast the world of books is, and together with that they made their first bookmarks to help them with reading. Apart from Bulgarian Language and Literature, other subjects – Music, Information Technology, Technology and Entrepreneurship found place in the lesson, making it interdisciplinary. I chose this topic to emphasize the importance of reading books at a very young age, and my goal was to help young students love books even more because reading books instills many virtues in us- it teaches us patience, curiosity, confidence, creativity, kindness, tolerance and empathy.
