TRANSDISCIPLINARITY – A KEY TO AN EFFECTIVE EDUCATIONAL PROCESS

Abstract: The following work presents the topic of transdisciplinarity in lower secondary school and higher education. With their experience as long-time school and university teachers, the authors of this article believe that the transdisciplinary integration of the curriculum could be very important for the preparation of future generations. The integration of knowledge from two or more disciplines helps to realize new didactic innovations, thanks to which many possibilities of students are stimulated. Transdisciplinarity is an approach related to solving real problems. It leads to a different understanding of the world by students and gives them the opportunity to deal with cases that require collaboration and competences from different fields. In the article, the authors present various innovative methods, strategies and tools. They share good practice of applying the transdisciplinary approach at the lower secondary school in class and extracurricular activities, as well as applying the teaching to students at the university. This kind of integration helps to increase the applicability of the knowledge and skills acquired during training, leading to an effective learning process, which improving the quality of education.
