„HERBS – INTERESTING AND HELPFUL“ – ACTIVITIES OF INTEREST IN A GROUP FOR ALL-DAY ORGANIZATION OF THE SCHOOL DAY

Abstract: This article is a development on the topic „Herbs – interesting and helpful“, discussed in classes for activities of interest in a group for all-day organization of the school day 5th grade. The chosen topic aims to enrich students knowledge of medicinal plants and to acquire skills to navigate the wide variety of herbs – to recognize and use them in the most correct way. Preliminary preparation is related to work on a project on „Making a business card for a medicinal plant.“ The real part of the interest activities
becomes real fun for the students. The fifth-graders present their projects with arguments, show the acquired knowledge for recognizing medicinal plants, compose stories related to them, and pick herbs with the help of the programmable robot Ozobot. The entertaining and practically useful activities end up with a tea party. The application of play activities and the use of modern technologies leads to additional enrichment of students, as they receive not only knowledge about medicinal plants, but learn to use them in real life.
