SPONTANEOUS ANALOGY AS HEURISTICS FOR SOLVING MORE COMPLEX MATHEMATICAL PROBLEMS

Stelliana Mitkova Kokinova
First English Language School, Sofia

Abstract: The article presents the author’s views on the place and role of learning through spontaneous analogies and changing context in the study of mathematics and solving more complex mathematical problems in high school. Some results obtained in the modeling of the reasoning by analogy, used in the author’s work with students with increased interest in mathematics, in the EPA classes – 10th grade are shared. An attempt is made to derive practical and methodological implications, as well as specific ways that would facilitate the work of students and that can be used in the classroom work of the teacher to develop the creative skills of his/her students.
Keywords: spontaneous analogies, changing context, study of mathematics, solving mathematical problems in high school
