Abstract: The aims of the current scientific research are to examine the level of formation of the key competence: communication in mother tongue of the students in primary school according to their teachers and parents. The subject of examination is Bulgarian Language and literature education. The date is collected by the means of the online survey. An important overview on how parents cooperate with teachers as their partners in the learning process of their children is presented. The analysis of the results gives information about the difficulties that learners face in language learning of their mother tongue. Some possible solutions are proposed based on team work and Web 2 tools. Suggested pedagogical practices increase collaboration among students during the learning process and are focused on creation of common products as a result of the students’ cooperation.
