Abstract: The following ar cle presents a type of lesson, based on the implementa on of the interdisciplinary
approach of literature teaching in the sixth grade, using the short story of Oscar Wilde, “The Happy Prince”.
It shows the possibility of applying the inter-subject connec ons for gaining deep and sustainable knowledge
and for teaching of moral values. The interdisciplinary approach is not only a new method of teaching. It is much
more a condi on for the growth and the development of the interac ve learning. This approach allows the students
to visualize the text, it al so helps them to fi nd and comment on moral aspects within the rela onship between
fantasy and reality, it provides them with the opportunity to realize the messages of the text of Oscar Wilde
– to create good and beauty and to open their hearts for the others. Only than one can become chosen by
fate, to awake the real “happy prince” in his heart.
