Abstract: The report describes a practical lesson combined with theoretical, observational and research activities in literature and history. The thematic unit is about the Balkan war, but developed through the prism of the little man, global history and art. The lesson presents the different points of view, namely – man as a person with his personal history, man as part of the family with his main social role and man as part of the factual statistics of history. By realizing the lesson in a suitable educational environment – among the exposition of the museum, in front of the military trench, students are transported to the scene, transformed into military correspondents, photographers and artists and write the annals of the Balkan war. The distribution of the participants in teams further provoked their cognitive activity to research and creative activity in order to escalate into an emotional interpretation of the war by making a diagram of the emotions of the Bulgarian army according to Yovkov’s texts from „Last joy“.
