Abstract: Bulgarian folklore is rich and diverse. It has carried the wisdom of our people through the ages together with the power of the Bulgarian spirit. It teaches us about the way of life, the labour, the expectations and hopes of the people, it is a means of preserving the nation. Bulgarian folk art is a bearer of moral virtues, moral and aesthetic values, which are timeless. Becoming part of the folklore traditions starts in the kindergarten – with the help of the folk tales, songs, counting-out rhymes, folk games, traditional dancing, children’s participation in folk festivals. Sparkling and developing an interest in it will enrich and develop the child as a person. The presence of folk arts in the process of education and upbringing will reveal the beauty of the Bulgarian folklore. Pedagogical situations and various additional forms (entertainment, celebration, staging, observation, etc.) with a folklore motif will successfully contribute to sparkling and developing an interest in it. The children will be brought up to respect and love Bulgarian folklore, as well as the traditions and customs of the Bulgarian people, which they will in turn pass onto the next generation.
