Abstract: The pre-school institution performs numerous functions, facilitating the multi-dimensional formation of the child’s personality. The whole educational process is possible and productive only for the mentally complete child. The laxity of the adolescent in this period is dictated precisely by his psyche, which in turn reflects the character of the family structure as well as the communication within it. The focus of the study is on the relationship between children and their parents. Whether the family is full or incomplete – the quality of communication between the child and the parents should not be hindered because communication is at the center of everything. The study presents a study of the different family structures and their influence on the young person, his personality and his mental state, through a simple visual activity: Draw his family. Drawing forms creative thinking, imagination and transmits emotional attitude to the objects and phenomena depicted. Psychologists are of the opinion that children express their vision of the world through their drawings because „Their drawings are a mirror to the soul.“ Taking into account the colors, shapes and means of expression in the pictorial activity, the advantages and disadvantages of the family relations are revealed. The ways of preventing the negative influence of the family structure and the communication in it dictated by the contemporary value system are analyzed to help the formation of a mentally, emotionally and physically healthy individual.
