Abstract: Digital literacy is a complex concept that covers different aspects of IT skills. The aspects of digital literacy are changing with the development of technology. The digital literacy of modern man is expressed in his ability to work with a particular device, the way he interacts in online communities, ethical behaviour in the online environment, finding and critical attitude to information, and many others.
Modern children are surrounded by technology, but the knowledge they receive is not enough to form the basis of digital competence. Systemic knowledge and skills in digital literacy should be developed in an educational environment.
This article examines the current state of the problem of digital literacy in third grade students. It is emphasized on the new third-grade curricula introduced by the school year 2018/2019. The teachers and students’ opinion on the problem in practice is analysed.
