Abstract: From the school year 2017/2018 First elementary school „St. St. Cyril and Methodius „in the town of Gotse Delchev is one of the innovative schools in Bulgaria. For this purpose, seven groups in the fifth and sixth grade were formed, who facultatively studied Bulgarian language and literature, English, History and Civilization, Man and Nature, Geography and Economics, and were based on project-based learning. The emphasis of the method was on the acquisition of knowledge, the formation and development of skills and competences needed to solve real problems and situations.

The „Easter“ theme was appropriate for interdisciplinary work in Bulgarian language and literature,  Man and Nature, and English. The project work was a provocation for the teachers and for students too. Its implementation has gone through three stages: organizational, operational, productive. The pupils studied and systematized knowledge of the Easter holiday, they demonstrated different techniques for colouring eggs with natural materials. Traditional cakes, egg holders and Easter cards were made. During a final lesson, with guests invited representatives of the Regional Educational Inspectorate Blagoevgrad, of the teachers’ college and parents the fifth and sixth graders demonstrated that they are capable of being researchers, showing their creative thinking, reaching new knowledge by solving problem situations and implementing projects.
