Abstract: The tales and the games are an important part of the cognitive activity of  the children. However, they are gradually being almost entirely replaced by the learning activity. The first years of primary school age suggest a smooth transition to this process. The article presents project work with students from the 2nd grade for realization of mathematical activities, using fairytales and performing creative tasks.
