Abstract: Art therapy-a psychotherapeu c method, which is used for treatment and psychological adjustment,
through art and crea vity. It includes various kinds of ar s c ac vi es, as the most successful in children
are fi ne arts, fairy tales as psychotherapy, as well as theatre and music. The goal of the art the art therapist is to
s mulate the child’s personal poten al and to develop its emo onal intelligence in a secure and protected environment.
Art is a kind of language, and the symbols it uses are its words. It is touching the most subtle strings of
the s oul in search of the thread that connects children with special educa onal needs to the rest of the group.
Birds fl y, and people feel. It develops the child’s ability to recognize its emo onal sphere, to react, to experience
together with the others, to join, to control nega ve emo ons. For the child to feel the emo ons of others, to
share them and to understand them, it needs to understand its own feelings fi rst. Expressing your emo ons,
it improves expressive communica on tools: mimics, sculpture, speech. It paints or plays and in the process of
these events it masters the nega ve emo ons to become a be er person. Success begets success. The best mo-
ve for a child with special educa onal needs is the feeling that it succeeds.
