PROMOTING ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION IN INTEREST CLUBS

Abstract: Extracurricular activity offers an opportunity to reveal the talents of students through practical activities, innovative methods and means. This article shares successful models and methods for forming environmental awareness and behavior among students in natural science interest clubs. Innovative methods are offered to motivate students and successfully master the so-called „green competences“ related to building an attitude and behavior related to the protection of the nature around us, experimentation, research and analysis, problem solving, critical thinking, teamwork, constructive dialogue, effective use of software, creativity, building an information and media literacy, etc. In the article, the authors share opportunities for interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary lessons. The benefits of interest clubs are described. They introduce us to the results of their work in the junior high school stage of primary education.
