DEVELOPMENT OF CREATIVE STORYTELLING AT PRESCHOOL AGE THROUGH THE USE OF SCHEMATIC IMAGES AS A VISUAL SUPPORT

Abstract: This article examines the development of creative storytelling skills in preschool through the use of schematic images as visual aids. A methodical algorithm for composing a creative story on a topic that contains the plot basis of the action and a plan-scheme presenting the structural components of the text – beginning, event and end are described. The plot basis of the action is related to the presentation of a problematic situation, which in preschool is most often formulated by the question word „How?“ The results of the study unequivocally prove that the lack of specifics in the schematic plan stimulates children to move from a detailed description of the characters and their actions to a deeper search for opportunities for plot development.
